Sabrina Yearling and Cody Dickman’s wedding at Copper Moon Event Venue in Old Town Lansing on October 20, 2024, was an unforgettable day filled with love, laughter, and a few hilarious surprises! First of all, shoutout to Lynn and Matt at Copper Moon—they made everything so seamless, and the industrial-chic vibe of the venue matched Sabrina’s editorial style perfectly (which happens to be my jam too!).
Sabrina and Cody’s love story started just two years ago when they met on Facebook Dating. They got engaged during a family trip, and their favorite memory? The very first time they met in person. Sabrina was having a mini panic attack, and Cody wasn’t faring much better. When they finally hugged, Cody was so nervous his hands were shaking! But they ended up talking for hours, and their connection has only deepened since.

Before the ceremony, we took some amazing bridal photos in a graffiti-filled alleyway just a block from the venue. The colorful murals added such an edgy, urban vibe to the shots, perfectly matching the couple’s style. The bridal party brought all the energy, especially the groomsmen, who were so hyped they even tried to pick Cody up—talk about fun! It was a hilarious, action-packed moment that had everyone laughing.
"Cody spent 30 minutes watching YouTube tutorials on how to tie a tie"
Now, back to the wedding itself—Cody’s tie was such a thoughtful touch. It was made from the same floral embroidered fabric as Sabrina’s veil, which added a personal and beautiful touch to his navy blue suit. However, there was a slight hiccup, Cody spent 30 minutes watching YouTube tutorials on how to tie a tie (note to self: I need to learn this skill!). But once he and the help from 3 other people got it sorted, the tie was stunning.
“surprise first look”
Sabrina, rocking Converse sneakers embroidered with flowers, had another surprise up her sleeve. She and the best man, John, planned a surprise “first look” with Cody, where John showed up in a wedding dress and veil! Cody’s reaction was absolutely priceless, and the moment ended with a forehead kiss and lots of laughs.
"Goosebumps all around"
The real first look between Cody and Sabrina? Goosebumps all around. You could feel the love between them, and one of my favorite things about this couple is how they’re always reminding each other how much they love and appreciate each other. Whether during their engagement session or their wedding day, they were constantly telling each other how beautiful they are and how lucky they feel.
The ceremony, officiated by a close friend, Joe, was both emotional and full of humor. One of my favorite lines? The officiant jokingly mentioned sending an invoice, and he brought it up a few more times throughout the ceremony—it was hilarious every time! Even with the laughs, the ceremony was filled with love and emotion, and it was clear to everyone how deeply Sabrina and Cody care for each other.
"total showstopper!"
Their grand entrance was full of personality, and let me tell you, Sabrina’s sequin dress was a total showstopper! The food from Morton’s Fine Catering was absolutely amazing, especially the prime rib with horseradish sauce. But the highlight of the night had to be the first dance, which was yet another testament to the deep love these two share.
Sabrina’s dance with her dad was an emotional moment, with her dad crying the entire time—and her mom wasn’t far behind with the tears. It was such a sweet and heartfelt part of the day.

Once the dance music kicked in, the party was on! The dance floor stayed packed all night, and everyone had a blast, dancing their hearts out in celebration of this incredible couple.
